Akhil Sasi

I designsoftware wherea confusing screenhas a real cost.

I'm Akhil Sasi, a UI/UX designer in Kochi. For three years I've designed products for recovery support, clinical labs, cloud infrastructure and student money, usually as the only designer on the team.

I'm looking for a product design role in Bengaluru, Hyderabad or remote.

Finsteps

How I work

I design what the product does, not only how it looks

In Torch, the crisis path to 988 never depends on the AI being available. In Auscura, an AI draft can't move forward until a pathologist has reviewed it. Those rules came before the visuals.

I fix things once, in the system

Torch runs on tokens and a small type scale. When contrast needed to change, one token changed across every screen, and the contrast ratios are calculated from the tokens, not eyeballed.

I test with the people who will use it

For Finsteps I tested with students and parents, then changed the flows. A design isn't finished because it looks finished.

I write down what I don't know

Before locking Torch's screens I listed the open questions only the client could answer, such as where health data lives and who is told when someone asks for help.
